About La Fortonie, Gensac

Location – Situated conveniently close to both Bordeaux and Bergerac airports, being approximately 35 miles east of Bordeaux, 12 miles from St. Emilion and Bergerac, and about 6.5 hours by road from the channel port of Caen. The house is down a track, 500 metres from the road. It is quite secluded behind a wall.

The House – is a maison de maitre, built around 1770 in an attractive and peaceful setting, surrounded on three sides by vineyards. It is comfortably arranged in a rustic and simple style, and can accommodate any number of people up to twelve. It is ideally suited for two families or three generational family holidays having plenty to keep everyone occupied.

Grounds – The garden is bounded by attractive barns and a fine old stone wall. The 10×5 metre swimming pool is fenced and fully serviced. There are tables and chairs for al fresco eating under the tree which gives necessary shade and also a large  BBQ. The terrace by the fenced pool has its own separate table and chairs. The petanque (for boules) is closer to the house. Deck chairs, sun loungers and a badminton set are also available as is an outdoor ping-pong table.
